Privacy Policy

TracingPages (“we”, “us”) publishes free printable name, letter, number and handwriting tracing worksheets at tracingpages.com, along with a generator that makes a worksheet for any name or word. This policy covers what information is collected when you use the site, why, and the choices you have.

Summary

  • There are no accounts, and nothing on the site is for sale.
  • Names you type into the worksheet generator stay on your device. They are not sent to us.
  • We use Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity to see which worksheets get used.
  • We may show advertising, which involves third-party cookies.
  • We don’t sell your personal information.

Names typed into the worksheet generator

The tracing tool on our pages runs entirely in your web browser. When you type a name or word, code on your device draws it onto the worksheet, and the print, PDF and PNG files are created on your device too. The text is not sent to our servers, and the tool does not save it in cookies or browser storage. When you leave or reload the page, it is gone.

Our analytics record that a worksheet was made, printed or downloaded, along with the letter style, the font and the number of characters typed. They never record the text itself. On the ready-made pages (for example, the worksheet for the name Emma), we record which sheet was printed; anything you typed yourself is recorded only as “custom”. The name box and the worksheet preview are also marked to be masked in Microsoft Clarity recordings.

Information you send us

If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you write. We use it to reply and keep it only as long as the conversation needs. We don’t add anyone to a mailing list.

Information collected automatically

Like most websites, our hosting and analytics record technical details of each visit: the pages you view, the website or search that sent you, your approximate location based on your IP address (city or region, not a street address), your browser and device type, screen size, language, and the date and time. We look at this in aggregate to see which worksheets are popular, which pages have problems, and where the site is slow.

Analytics

  • Google Analytics 4 (Google LLC) measures traffic and the print and download events described above. Google processes this data under itsprivacy policy, and you can opt out on every site with Google’sopt-out browser add-on.
  • Microsoft Clarity (Microsoft Corporation) produces heatmaps and session recordings that show how pages are used, so we can find layout problems. Clarity masks text typed into input boxes by default, and our name box and worksheet preview are marked for masking as well. See Microsoft’sprivacy statement.

Advertising

TracingPages is free, and we may show ads from third-party ad networks to pay for running it. When ads are shown, those networks and their partners may set cookies or similar identifiers in your browser to measure ad performance and, where the law allows, to show ads based on your interests. They may receive your IP address, browser details and the pages you view here.

We do not receive or store the personal information these partners collect, and we don’t sell your personal information. Where consent is required for personalized advertising, including in the EU, the UK and some US states, you will see a consent notice and can change your choice at any time. Residents of California and other states with similar laws can opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information for targeted advertising through that notice or by emailing us.

You can also opt out of interest-based advertising from participating companies atoptout.aboutads.infoand youronlinechoices.eu.

Cookies

Cookies are small files your browser stores. We use them for analytics and, when ads run, for advertising as described above. The worksheet tool itself does not use cookies. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and every worksheet will still print and download normally.

Children’s privacy

Our worksheets are made for young children to use on paper, but the website is written for the adults who print them: parents, teachers, homeschool families and therapists. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. A child’s name typed into the generator stays on the device, as described above. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, email us and we will delete it.

How long we keep data

Google Analytics deletes event-level data automatically after a retention period of no more than 14 months. Microsoft Clarity keeps recordings for a limited period set by Microsoft. Emails are kept only as long as we need them to answer you.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, correct it, delete it, object to or restrict how it is used, get a copy of it, or opt out of its sale or sharing. These rights come from laws including the EU and UK GDPR, the California Consumer Privacy Act, and the consumer privacy laws of Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah and other states.

To make a request, email hello@tracingpages.com. We will respond within the time the law allows, we won’t charge you, and we won’t treat you differently for asking. We hold very little that identifies anyone, so clearing this site’s cookies is often the quickest fix. If you are in the EU or UK and are unhappy with our answer, you can complain to your local data protection authority.

Where data is processed

TracingPages is a United States website delivered through a global content delivery network, and our analytics and advertising providers are based in the United States. If you visit from another country, technical data about your visit will be processed in the US under the safeguards those providers maintain.

Links to other sites

We sometimes link to other websites. Their privacy policies apply once you follow the link, and we have no control over what they collect.

Changes to this policy

When we change this policy we update the date at the top of the page, and we describe any significant change on this page.
